Amanzi Starway (Pty) Ltd manufactures HDPE plastic piping systems out of East London, South Africa — engineered for a service life in excess of 100 years, with zero leakage and excellent corrosion resistance.
Amanzi Starway's pipe is made by integrating steel strip reinforcement with high-density polyethylene through an integration machine — the profiles are spirally wound and fusion-welded to form a pipe with concentric steel-reinforced HDPE ribs. The combination gives the pipe the corrosion resistance and flexibility of HDPE with the ring stiffness of steel, at a lighter weight and lower installed cost than concrete, PVC, or pure PE structural-wall alternatives.
Our technology holds South African patent no. 2006/02154, awarded 4 October 2006, covering both the pipe and the manufacturing process.
Manufactured to SANS 674:2015, our pipes are available across the full range below in three standard ring-stiffness classes — SN8, SN10 and SN12.5 — to suit the application, from light irrigation lines to heavy municipal sewer trunk mains. SN4 and SN6 classes can be manufactured on request.

SN stands for the ring stiffness class of the pipe. Weight per metre is available on request. Standard pipe lengths: 6m and 12m. Pipes are manufactured using HDPE 100 grade material, rated for a service life of up to 100 years.
A rubber sleeve seals the pipe ends, encased with a foam rubber belt, and secured with a loose stainless steel clamp. Simple, secure, field-proven.
DN200 – DN1200mmA heating wire embedded in the PE belt fuses the belt to the inner pipe wall when current is applied, forming a permanent, leak-free joint with the same chemical resistance as the pipe itself.
DN200 – DN2200mmPipe ends are fused directly using an HDPE extrusion welder, laying a continuous weld bead by hand along the joint. Carried out on site by trained technicians, giving a permanent, monolithic joint.
On-site · skilled applicationEvery pipe leaving our plant is manufactured and tested against national and international standards, with certification renewed and audited on an ongoing basis.
